The 2005 participants in the Bodji cluster attended seven different schools in the Bodji area: Bila, Gida, Hidhabu, Bodji, Bobine, and Manajarte. Both parents of four of the girls have died, and one parent (usually the father) of six girls is dead. The selection committee described the remaining girls as "destitute." A number of the girls wrote that they were ready to drop out of school at the time REAL help came.
