REAL Nekempte girls 2006
The Nekempte GirlsThe REAL sponsorship of the 15 girls in the Nekempte cluster began in Fall 2006. Nekempte is a larger town in Western Ethiopia. The 15 girls, selected by a committee appointed by the Synod of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church - Mekane Yesus - attended 11 different schools.

Tamirat - Nekempte 2006
2007 - with your help and support i'm going to school now. i love my classes, but i find it hard to understand my math courses. i live with my sister, we live in Nekemte town. In 2007 i was in Grade 9. I got a good mark and pased to Grade 10. last year in 9th grade i am first in my class. I have no parents. My father died when i was one and two years later my mother died. Now i'm 16 years old. Next year i have to study hard to pass the exam. I wish you a happy Ethiopian new year and hopfuly i will talk you soon.
Sinke - Nekempte 2006
2007- I'm 16 years old. I'm in 6th grade. Thank you for your support and attention. Because of you i can afford to go to school and buy school materials. I wish you a happy Ethiopian new year and hopfuly i will talk to you again.
Obse - Nekempte 2006
Obse wass the first of the REAL girls to finish the 12th grade and be accepted into the university in Ethiopia.
2007- Thank you for your help and support. In Ethiopia - there is a big celebration going on for the millinum. me and my family are preparing ourself to get ready for the new year. School is going to start soon, and i'm also make myself prepare for it. I wish you a happy Ethiopian new year.
Mulunesh - Nekempte 2006
2007- I'm learning English everyday at my school. my favorit subjects are English and Biology. I have very close friends and with them i pray and study bible. I thank you for your support and hopefuly we will meet in person soon. God bless you and your family.
Mesgane - Netempke 2006
2007- I'm 17 years old. i have five brothers and a sister. I love art and learning new languages. I love to study bible. Thank you for your encouragement and support and i hope i will talk to you again.
Marge - Nekempte 2006
2007-Thank you for your support and attantion. I have been doing well. I'm on the 7th grade and doing good with my education. i have been sick for the last couple of weeks, but i'm doing fair and ready to go back to school. In Ethiopia, people are getting ready to celebrate the new millinum and my family and i are trying to fill the house with happyness and hope. Because of you my dream came true. Again thank you for your support and i wish you a happy Ethiopian new year.
Madanit - Nekempte 2006
2007 - Thank you for your support. School are going to open soon and i fell like i'm ready for it. I'm so exited to see my teachers and classmates. With your help i bought my textbooks and pens. God bless you and your family. I wish you a happy new year and hopeful i will talk to you soon.

God bless you for putting up effort in trying to change my life. it is because of you my life has change and i will thank you for it for the rest of my life. i wish you the best in the coming year and hopeful i can meet you someday if God will.

2007-I am living with my father. My mother died two years ago. Thankfuly with your help and support me and my other brothers and sister are going to school. My favorite subjects are Englsih and Mathematics. in my spare time i help my family. now in Ethiopia its winter time and we are in our vacation. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and i wish you the best in the comeing year.
